Is everything we find on the internet truly open and transparent? Does the beauty we perceive reflect genuine beauty? Through this piece, I aim to highlight the overwhelming presence of noisy information that inundates our daily lives. Individuals gradually become numb to receiving information and lose our sense of clarity. Beneath what seems positive, there might lurk elements of violence and destruction. Much like fireworks, what’s behind its flashy visuals are devastating explosions.

Inflated balloons and broken glass bottles were placed respectively in the installation space. Each participant will be given a pin before entering the installation space. They will also notice several intact empty glass bottles placed next to the broken ones. (The audience will not be instructed what to do exactly) Some participants subconsciously use the needle to poke the balloon. Accompanied by the sound of balloon, fireworks bursting on the screen. After discovering this rule, the participants began to make noise by destroying props or using physical activity to trigger the gorgeous fireworks on the screen. The more noise the audience makes, the bigger the explosions of fireworks and the louder the explosive sound will be.

The explosion is as violent as it is sublime; in destruction, there is also creation. I collected photos of fireworks and mushroom clouds explosions on the internet, and then put them into the program I made to create an effect of datamoshing. I intend to blur the boundary between flowery and catastrophic things from essence and merge the interior conflicts.
