Wood, blind, suitcase bindings, tape, ribbons, newspaper
The window within my work serves as a symbolic representation of space, embodying the idea that where there is space, there exists a window. I integrated ready-made objects like blinds, suitcase bindings, tape, ribbons, and newspapers together to craft a broken wooden window.
Opting for an unconventional approach, I transformed newspaper strips into a woven style, presenting them as a patch for repairing this window. Randomly placing tape and ribbon on the broken window, the wall, and the ceiling, I aimed to instill a sense of movement. Destructive action, for me, is a powerful verb, and it is crucial to reflect this dynamism in the presentation of the work. The incorporation of tape and ribbons disrupts the conventional forms of windows, curtains, and regularly woven newspapers. The interplay between the tension of the luggage straps and the softness and fragility of other materials adds another layer of contrast of motion.
